THEATRE

A one-act play set in the late 1940s - early 1950s follows the dramatic events of city man Bus Riley who returns to his old hometown in Midwest, USA. By creating multiple platform heights and with the use of railings and vertical lines, this imagery implies the feeling of a jail cell, relaying the strong theme of physical and emotional imprisonment of the main characters. Media used - black and white foam core model.

GLORY IN THE FLOWER

by William Inge

Based on the early 19th century artist Francisco Goya, this Spanish, surreal-stylized play explores the almost deaf artist's career declining as he begins to see his unorthoxed "Black Paintings" come to life in his mind. The script specifically calls for the use of projections when portraying all of the artwork.  Creating a skeletal, cage-like set with many opportunities for fill/void projection surfaces and a more traditional stage facade, the design emphasizes the contrast between the king's realistic world and Goya's constant dream state. Media used - Revit and Photoshop rendering.
